ABOUT ME
I work together with businesses to safeguard and protect their investment in technology by helping them fulfil their patent protection needs.
With an education in mechanical engineering, a background in vehicle engineering and over 14 years experience as a patent examiner at the EPO in Munich, Germany, I am in a position to provide a unique insight into the patent application process. Having been on the other side of the fence, not only do I fully understand the patent application process, but I also understand the motivation behind the patent examiners and the factors which drive their decisions.
Consulting on this basis allows my clients to manage the application process in the most effective way, and helps them avoid costly mistakes which may lose them protection for subject matter that is important to them.

I'm Steve Jackson and I have been in the IP industry for over 14 years, working as a Patent Examiner at the European Patent Office from 2003 until 2017. Prior to my IP career, I worked in engine test, calibration and development, working for companies such as Lotus Engineering, Tickford Engineering, and Porsche Engineering Service in Germany. I now run my own patent consultancy, specialising in helping SMEs to achieve success by helping them comprehend and control the patent application process. Enrolled on the PFUE scheme (Pre-Formation of Undergraduate Engineers) to gain valuable work experience prior to University. Employed at Valeo Climate Control in Ammanford, UK.
